Menses: Irregular menses needs to be evaluated by a doctor. There can be numerous reasons for not having regular menses. When not pregnant, the body turns off the menstrual cycles during times of stress. Stress can be physical, emotional or structural. Your doctor will be able to get to the source of the problem.

This is not typical: Generally, if cycles are less than 21 days, it usually indicates a woman is not ovulating and her bleeding is not being regulated correctly by her ovaries. It would helpful t measure your hormone levels and possibly do an ultrasound to look at your ovaries. As far as regulating your cycles, it depends on whether you want to get pregnant now or to practice contraception. Your doctor can help.
