My friend has diabetic retinopathy. being treated with eylea eye injections. they treated the "better" eye first and in two weeks will treat the "worse" eye. why wouldn't the dr. treat the worse eye first, if it is worse and in poorer condition?

Choice: Because the treatment has better prognosis if used on less affected eye. If used on more compromised eye, the "better" eye will get worse over those 2 weeks, and ultimately will be less successful.

Treatment: The timing of treatment is due to what findings the doctor notes during the testing for the retinal changes in the retinopathy. This dictates when and which eye to treat. Have faith in your doctors decision and feel free to discuss this with him.
