Can be normal: The diastolic number is the bottom number in a blood pressure reading, i.e. the "80" in a BP 120/80, which is the average normal blood pressure for an adult. However, BP varies by age, weight, medical conditions, and other factors. Generally, a diastolic number of 83 would be normal. For adults, above 90 is cause for possible concern. Please discuss your individual concern with your doctor.
