A member asked:

Will it cause damage to my hearing if i got hair bleach on my ear from bleaching my hair? i have some light burning that feels like it's not so much in my ear (but could be a little) but definitely on my ear?

Doubt it: There are issue barriers that would keep any such liquid from ever reaching the hearing mechanism. The actual hearing structures are located deep within the head & surrounded by the strongest bony structure in the body.

Chemicals and skin: Usually chemicals can cause burning or redness, but these are just skin deep and would not affect hearing. Even if a chemical caused swelling in the ear canal, it would not cause hearing loss on an ongoing basis
