A member asked:

What is mild cerebral cortical atrophy and periventricular hypodensitites ? please help with treatment - it is for my 2.5 yrs son?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Basics: The reading says that the brain volume is less than expected & some areas near the middle of the brain are not as dense as they should be. It would be the type of report I would expect in a child with developmental delays due to some form of brain injury. The timing would be any point during pregnancy/labor/delivery or early months. Each such case is unique & more than that can not be stated.
