A member asked:

Hi. if you think you are exposed to hiv? what should you do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: If the exposure was within 72 hours, see your doctor or go to hospital to take post-exposure prophylaxis that may prevent the infection. If it has been longer than that, get tested for HIV. If the results are negative, to be sure get a HIV nucleic acid test at 6 months after exposure. Wish you good health!
