Sinus infection?: If you're referring to a sinus infection, most are viral or allergic and will get better regardless of what you do. Some ways of treating symptoms include decongestants, ibuprofen, nasal saline irrigation and sometimes an intranasal steroid. If confirmed bacterial sinusitis, antibiotics can be used. Antibiotics have been shown not to be effective if symptoms have been present less than 10 days.
