A member asked:

Taking ceramics in college and my professor was demonstrating how to use an electric sander to get excess glass off.she didnt provide or prepare us to have any n95 masks.should i be worried about the potential particles i breathed, very worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Proactive rather!: You should be proactive rather than being worried Take precaution and start wearing mask to protect your lungs. You know you could inhale the particles however not all people that inhale dusts develop diseases just like not all smokers have lung cancer. There are diseases associated with dust inhalation like silicosis, mesothelioma, interstitial lung diseases. Do not wait for others to protect you
