Hi. i've started using a contraceptive pill. i start spotting and then get my period a few days later. i've made the mistake to start my pills on the day i notice spotting, as i've mistaken it for my period. how will the pill affect my cycle now?

Cycle changes: Oral Contraceptive packs are typically 28 pills (21 of them contain hormone, 7 of them don't contain hormone). You should start your period somewhere in the white/non hormone days, and you should not take a new pack until those 7 days have passed. Irregular bleeding is typical for the first 3-4 months on a new hormonal contraceptive. The first month, you are not protected til day 10. Use a condom.
