2nd month on lo loestrin fe. 1st pack, i did not have a period. however, i did begin spotting 1 week into 2nd pack when i would have normally had my period. the spotting lasted 3 weeks. no period during inactive pills. still effective contraceptive?

The general rule is that irregular spotting during the 1st 3 cycles of a new contraceptive is considered normal, & most of the time you are protected after the 1st full month if you don’t miss any pills- but no birth control method is 100% guaranteed
