Memory issues : Loss of memory of the names of close people has many possible reasons. It is not easy to understand this without a good history and evaluation. Some ideas come to mind, poor sleep (sleep apnea), depression, or a loss of function of the brain.

Recent or life long: Some people are just bad at remembering names and/or faces and it is something to make an adjustment to. If your memory has become worse than it used to be, it would be prudent to see a neurologist. Wish you good health!
