Ive dry chapped cracked lips(specially lower lips) all year. i use vaseline every night and take it off with tissue next morning which gives it mild exfoliation. im tired of it. what is permanent treatment for my lips?

Lip allergy or...: Persistent chapped lips may be treated like skin eczema, using hydrocortisone cream plus Vaseline or Aquaphor to retain moisture. Sometimes lipsticks or lip sunscreen chemicals are causing an allergic reaction on the lips. Other times, a person is a lip-licker (it's her habit). Once cracked, lips get irritated by foods and juices. Vaseline itself is just oil and thus shouldn't cause allergies.
