Many options: The knee has three compartments. Inside, outside and top (kneecap). Tri compartmental arthritis means their is arthritis (cartilage loss from bone) in all three areas. Non operative treatment includes anti-inflammatories, exercise program, injections, and bracing. Surgical options include replacement of the knee and sometimes arthroscopy (surgery with a camera) if their is a meniscus tear.
