Cancer happens when normal cells in the body make a mistake due to a mutation in their DNA. They divide and keep dividing because they have lost the normal off switch. They also gain the ability to move through tissues, which is called invasion. Anything that causes mutations in DNA can lead to cancer. Does that make sense?
