I am on the contraceptive yaz for 4 months now, i have been on my period for 12 days now, fairly light but with a lot of clots and getting heavier, is this from the pill or what? should i make an appointment with my gyne?

The cause of sustained bleeding may be a result of not being punctual in taking the active pills. Once withdrawal bleeding starts, resumption of taking active bcp's can sustain such bleeding. If pregnancy is possible, obtain a serum HCG test. If positive, see your gyn provider. If negative, stop the pack of Yaz, wait five days, and begin a new pack: take them the same hour each day.
