I recently found out i'm pregnant for the first time. i am 30 years old, i have an under active thyroid, and i am on eltroxin daily. i believe i'm around 5 weeks now, i have lower back pain, and some diarrhea. is this normal? i'm worried.

"Eltroxin" is levothyoxin, a thyroid supplement. Thyroid disease should be closely monitored during pregnancy, as deficient thyroid hormone can affect the fetus adversely. Your dose of Eltroxin may need to be increased,as protein binding of thyroxin increases in pregnancy. Ask your OB provider for a consult with a maternal-fetal medicine physician.
