Depo: Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) can really mess up your ovulation and therefore mess up your menstrual cycles. The kind of mucus. You get when you ovulate is usually sticky and stretchy. It sounds like yours are more thick which would not be suggestive of ovulation. Although you can't be sure without being examined.

Long lasting: One average the full effects of Depo-Provera last 3 months, but some effect lasts usually about 9 months and sometime up to 18 months. So all bleeding patterns and ovulation patterns can be affected. If you are still having problems in 2-3 months would recommend and evaluation. There is no way to get it out any quicker.
