Pelvic pain: Collecting a pap smear specimen cannot cause such pain. However, it is likely you also had a bimanual pelvic exam, right? If you have certain types of pelvic or lower abdominal conditions, the exam could be uncomfortable and pain or discomfort might continue. It's not possible to predict the particular cause on a forum like this. Discuss with the doctor who did the pap and exam. Good luck.
