Gum pain: I suspect that your gingivitis is caused by poor dental hygiene which must be treated before peridontal disease will lead to teeth loss. Get started by an examination and appropriate treatment by a dentist Smoking will worsen gum disease.

Swollen gums: Most common cause is gum disease (infection). For an accurate diagnosis, as there are other possibilities, you will ave to see a General Dentist or a gum/bone specialist Periodontist. Gum disease requires treatment, it will not self-resolve,and going maintenance. Can't fix this with a pill or an OTC.
