I received a flu shot early wednesday morning. by 8 pm i had slightly achy muscles and a headache. thursday afternoon i got diarrhea. since then the headache has gone but the diarrhea has continued. today(friday) i have gone poop 7 times and have had shooting pains in my stomach just before going and sometimes in between. i havent had a fever. should i be concerned? flu shot side effects?

Coincidance: Although the timing may lead you to suspect the shot as a trigger to all the symptoms I doubt they all would be. Achy muscle& a headache maybe but diarrhea would more likely be from a previous exposure to a virus or a food reaction. You should discuss this with your doc at your next visit.

Flu shot side effect: Flu shot side effects may include fever, chills, muscle aches, headache, tiredness, joint or muscle pain, weakness, diarrhea and abdominal pain. The flu shot does not protect one from "stomach flu" which includes diarrhea and abdominal pain. Symptoms may last up to 10 days. Best regards for health.
