Yes: If you have a diagnosis of hypertension then it may be necessary to take medication for your own safety as well as the safety of the baby. Your doctor will know which medications are safe in pregnancy and whether or not medication is needed. This is not a problem you should be managing on your own and should definitely work with your doctor.
