Premenstrual: If these mood disorders only occur in the premenstrual days, they may well be related to hormonal changes which can include fluid retention that can affect the brain that affect mood. I have prescribed salt restriction and low doses of a diuretic to take at the onset of the premenstrual period to obviate this reaction. Discuss this with your physician or gynecologist to see if he/she agrees
