A member asked:

17yrgrdaughter hs bipolar, add, premenstrual dysphoric disorder.on vivanse 60mg, straterra 60mg.risperdal2.5.she is unhappy/goes off.wht meds cd work.sad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Patients on: Stimulants generally need Depakote to help prevent vyvanse from effecting the mood. Risperdal is cheap, but not approved for bipolar depression. A trial on Latuda (lurasidone) with Depakote would be warranted in my opinion. Vyvanse may need to be raised and i wonder if strattera is really needed. Pms may be managed by Prozac only when symptoms are present, or through the month unless racing thoughts set in.
