Tendon failure: Kneecap laxity can be due to a previously injured tendon. Talk to an orthopedic surgeon if it is causing pain or difficulty moving. You want to be able to continue an active lifestyle in order to prevent weight gain and muscle/bone loss through menopause. The treatment may be as simple as a splint or may involve a tendon repair.
