I haven't been getting my period regularly since i started puberty and i'm 26 years old. i would get it 3-4 max and stop for months at a time. does this hinder my chances of getting pregnant?

Possibly yes: There can be different causes for irregular periods, but a common cause is anovulation, meaning that the ovary does not release an egg each time. When there is no egg present, a pregnancy cannot happens, so if you only ovulate every few months, it will likely be harder to get pregnant. You could ask your Dr about keeping a basal body temperature chart to help guide with most fertile times
