I have had a dry cough for a couple of weeks and my dr. prescribed an antibiotic 2 days ago, with no improvement yet. this morning when i was blowing my nose, there were black streaks in the tissue. could this be an abx side effect? another issue?

Unlikely : Save the tissue which can be tested for the presence of blood. Rinse nasal passages with saline, and have a pulmonary evaluation for a cough which is worsening or persistent.
