Cremasteric Reflex: The cremasteric reflex function to preserve thermoregulation of sperm. In the cold the cremaster muscle contracts to pull up the testes to a warmer environment as well as during flight or fight situations including sexual arousal. Some individuals may have less pronounced reflex response. However, the absence of the reflex in the setting of scrotal pain is a sign of testicular torsion.
