When starting lamotrigine, how best does one treat the headache if it occurs as side effect? the headache comes and goes over a period of several minutes.

Lamotrigine: You can take acetaminophen or ibuprofen for headache relief. You can check with your pharmacist to verify this. A serious side effect of lamotrigine is aseptic meningitis which causes severe headache along with fever, chills,stiff neck,nausea,vomiting for which you must seek immediate medical attention.
