I have what looks to be a cyst under my armpit. how is this treated? the pain started yesterday morning and it was a relatively small pimple. now it has grown in size and it is become increasingly painful.

Depends: There are lymph glands in that area that can become swollen while working to clear body serum of debris.They can also become infected when germs invade them. There are also apocrine glands in the area that can become infected. Moist heat can improve blood flow & speed natural healing. If this persists or worsens you may need to see your doc for meds or a surgical drainage of the process.

Warm compresses: Warm moist compresses for 10 minutes at a time as often as you are able will often promote it to resolve or drain. Plain water or water mixed with Epsom salt are fine. If this is not successful you may need to have a drainage done. Good luck!
