Phlebitis: Phlebitis/superficial thrombophlebitis is commonly encountered seen after a hospital stay during which time the veins are poked multiple times for blood draws and medication administered through catheter. Time, nsaids as safe & warm compress usually work. Occasionally complicated by an infection. Many other causes, some serious, are possible. Discuss with your physician to obtain best care.
