What kind of medicine/supplements do you recommend for when you have problems swallowing food? my grandmothers doctor gave her omeprazole and famotidine but she reacted bad to it.

Return to the doctor: Problems swallowing, are potentially serious and the cause should be identified right away. One of the primary functions of the swallow is airway protection. If your grandmother's symptoms include any choking then take her to the ER. The two acid blocking drugs work differently so her "reaction" is more likely a sign that acid reflux is not the problem. Ask her doc to re-evaluate or refer to ENT.
