LIver function: Excellent question. Indeed, the liver and kidneys are amazing organs: they are very good at recognizing toxins. In general, any chemical that isn't normal in the body is likely to be recongized and detoxified and secreted. Also, even most new (e.g. industrial) toxins are chemically similar to natural ones. However, it is possible that some new toxins might not be recognized as harmful.
