Knee ligament tear: One could experience severe pain from a knee ligament tear (e.g. Mcl, lcl, acl, pcl, etc.). If the pain is severe and lancinating and the equation contains a knee ligament, a teat of the deeper knee joint ligaments (e.g. Acl) may cause this. An orthopedic surgeon should be consulted if this is the case.
