D dimer result states 1339 ng/ml feu (high) but doctor did not say anything. below says normal range is less than 499. why is this number so high? head and chest ct normal. keep having fainting spells

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, a low D-dimer result is more useful in excluding blood clots. A high level can be due to many reasons and is not very useful in isolation.
