A member asked:

My wife appears to be suffering with vertigo? she is dizzy and unstable on her feet and feels nauseous. does this sound like vertigo and if so what should we treat with?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

_dizzy: If she feels that she or the room is spinning, especially with head movements, it most likely an inner ear disorder caused by a dislodged tiny stone in one of the inner ear canals. There should be no other neurologic symptoms, however, with this benign positional vertigo. We first prescribe a medication like meclizine as well as avoiding turning, twisting, etc. For stubborn cases see Otolaryngologi
