Water intoxication: It's definitely possible to develop water intoxication, a very dangerous condition, from drinking too much water. If you are not losing fluids through excessive perspiration, diarrhea, vomiting, certain kidney and glandular disorders, 2 and a half liters or so a day of drinking water is reasonable for a female and 3 and a half for males.
