A member asked:

Did x-ray of foot. xray showed no fractures but my two toes were still taped together. was told to keep it on for a couple of days as well as ice it. if there is no fracture why does the toe need to be buddytaped. it still burns and pains. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Common practice: Buddy taping assures that the toe will be moved though the normal range during daily activities & that it does not get pinched by a random movement. Without this a patient is prone to walking in an odd way or tripping more. This is a common practice.
