Yes get checked: You should have a doctor look at it especially if there is a high risk of it being infected, if it is still bleeding, if you are not up to date on your tetanus shot. If it is a wound that would need stitches, if it has been over 12 hours then it is too late to close it, but you may need it cleaned, or need an xray depending on how deep it is.
