Tan stools: Light brown or tan colored stools, which are usually soft, can occur with rapid transit through the gastrointestinal tract as in irritable colon syndrome but can also be due to malabsorption from pancreatic pathology. Good afternoon doctors. I notice that my stool is the typical brown color when I defecate, but it appears more yellowish when I wipe. Is this a concern? Could it be an indication of pancreas cancer? Or liver or celiac diseases?
I had neg- colonoscopy, EGD, HIDA, CT abdomen/pelvis, RUQ ultrasound, celiac panel. The small bowel series showed rapid transit. I also had a neg pancreas test. What on earth is causing my weight loss and undigested food/fat in stool?
I just had an abdominal MRI, with and w/o contrast to check a liver lesion that was picked up on ultrasound. It came back as a hemangiona. Would this type MRI also show other issues, such as cancers of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas?
