Esophageal varicies: Esophageal varices develop with the presence of advanced alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver which generally takes many years of heavy alcohol ingestion. After only 3 months of heavy drinking you may develop liver inflammation(alcoholic hepatitis) but not enough time for advanced cirrhosis(scarring) of the liver to form and, therefore, varices wouldn't develop. Hopefully you won't abuse alcohol.
