I keep reading its not safe to take ibuprofen long term due to risk of stroke but a dr. prescribed it to me for severe menstrual cramps which are monthly so ive been taking it for well over a decade. am i in danger?

Talk to your Dr.: Long-term use of ibuprofen can increase the risk for heart attack, stroke and ulcers. It can also increase the risk of bleeding in the stomach. Your doctor will need to regularly test your urine and blood if you are taking ibuprofen long-term.
