A member asked:

What if horizontal line below pectoral is rounded and not straight;is this a sign of gynecomastia?dr examined, said no gynecomastia;should i just calm down?if dr says son is fine, then he is,b/c doc would have found specific signs of gynecomast, right?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Basics: Gynecomastia will be evident on physical exam as spongy changes to the nipple & underlying tissue. It is not around the margin of the pectoral muscle. A kid carrying extra weight can carry fat cells at that location but it would not be hormonal gynecomastia.
