I was diagnosed with asthmaafter a bad uri. self taught nail tech. my mom is concerned that it will aggravate my asthma but i have no issue whatsoever with monomer (ethyl methacrylate- chemical name) does it pose any health risks? i do nails daily

Different asthma: There are different forms of asthma: after URI, due to allergies, due to occupation, others. The common denominator is the inflammatory response and if treated in a preventive way, is less likely that none specific triggers will make it worst. Yes, methacrylates can produce asthma but if you are not sensitize to it, no problem. So, use your preventive meds, see if symptoms correlate with work.

EMA: Per OSHA, Ethyl methacrylate (EMA) (artificial nail liquid) can contribute to asthma. I think that Methyl methacrylate (MMA), (artificial nail products) which is banned in some states would be more of a contributor to asthma. REF: https://www.trac360.com/blog/chemicals/chemicals-nail-salons/
