A member asked:

I was constipated and trying hard to excrete. suddenly my left eye felt like it was being crushed. a thick, cloudy sensation moved upwards, covered the surface of the eye, then disappeared. what happened? did i damage my eye, or reduce its lifespan?

Retinal Vasospasm: Straining for BM increases your blood pressure in your abdomen and head. This can lead to a Retinal Vasospasm: When a blood vessel in your retina tightens, it causes a vasospasm. This cuts down on blood flow, which can bring on temporary vision loss in one eye. Avoid Straining by eating foods high in fiber and fluids. See your Dr for follow up and to determine if you need additional testing.
