Normal ovarian cyst : The normal job of the ovaries is to make eggs & hormones, which happens in follicles (or 'cysts') every month. Every month, healthy ovaries will make cysts, one of which will ultimately 'ovulate' (release an egg) and then that cyst will gradually resolve or shrink and the process will repeat (unless you get pregnant). A cyst that is shrinking ('degenerating') is safe, nothing to worry about.
