Growth chart: Babies will develop their sleep patterns generally by the age of 6 months. During the earlier period, the sleep centers of the brain are developing. Consistent feeding and bedtime routines are helpful in establishing a pattern of sleep. Allow the baby to cry for about 10 minutes, while ensuring that there is no illness or diaper change needed. This self soothing facilitates sleep.
