1st degree burn: Gently wash the area with soap and water, pat dry and apply an antibacterial ointment. Protect with a sterile gauze attached to the normal skin with paper tape. Monitor it daily to ensure that infection isn't occurring. Apply the ointment and dressing daily. It may or may not peel, but takes about 7 days to heal.
