Possible TMJ problem: It is difficult to say what the cause is without more information but it sounds like this might be TMJ arthralgia. If you are not experiencing any changes in hearing (sensation of hearing under water), pain of external ear, or drainage from the ear this is the likely culprit. I would recommend trying over the counter analgesics and a soft diet for 2 weeks. If it persists or worsens, see a doctor.
