I was prescribed 1000mg antibiotics over 3 months straight. one evening, after taking a 10mg codeine painkiller, my stomach started cramping (i am a long-term user). now, i cannot find comfort and food won't stay down. only yogurt, eggs milk toast.

Antibiotics : If you have any loose bowel movements, you should be screened for a clostridioides difficile infection. This is a condition where a certain bacteria takes over as the dominant bacteria in the colon and this is not a good situation. C. diff. is treated with antibiotics like Flagyl and vancomycin.

Evaluation: Really great response by Dr. William Wilson. You didn't tell us which antibiotic you were using or what condition you are being treated for. However, if you can no longer tolerate a normal diet, then it is time to let your treating physician know so that this can be properly evaluated.
