Your : Your daughter did not take much more than the recommended dose, therefore there is likely no cause for real concern. She is however experiencing stomach cramps, which is one of the gastointestinal side effects that can occur with medications containing codeine. In a stiuation like this i would call your daughter's doctor if the stomach pain worsens, or if vomiting develops. More important dangerous side effects of Codeine you should watch out for are signs of an severe allergy (hives, intense itching, difficulty breathing), chest pain, fainting, heart palpitations, severe headache, or noticeable mood or mental changes. If any of these things occur she needs to be seen right away at her doctor's office or emergency room.
